Summary: SmartShop AI participates in affiliate programs. When you click certain links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This never influences which prices we show or how we rank results.

How We Make Money

SmartShop AI is a free tool, and we want to be completely transparent about how we sustain it. We have two revenue streams:

Pro subscriptions: Our primary revenue source. Users who want unlimited comparisons, alerts, and priority support pay a monthly or annual fee.
Affiliate commissions: When you click a "Buy Now" or "View Deal" link in our extension or website and complete a purchase, some retailers pay us a small referral commission. This is typically between 1% and 8% of the purchase price, depending on the retailer and product category.

What This Means for You

We want to be crystal clear about what our affiliate relationships do and do not affect:

Prices are never manipulated. The prices we show are fetched directly from retailer websites in real-time. We do not inflate, adjust, or selectively omit prices based on affiliate relationships.
Rankings are based on price alone. When we show comparison results, they are sorted by price — lowest first. A retailer paying us a higher commission does not appear higher in results.
You never pay more. Affiliate links do not add any cost to your purchase. The price you see is the price you pay.
We show all supported retailers equally. We do not hide cheaper options because they don't have affiliate programs.

Which Retailers Have Affiliate Agreements

We participate in affiliate programs with a number of major retailers, including but not limited to Amazon Associates, eBay Partner Network, Walmart Affiliates, and Best Buy Affiliate Program. The specific retailers with active affiliate agreements change over time as we add new partners.

Not all retailers in our comparison results have affiliate agreements with us. When you click a link to a retailer without an affiliate agreement, we earn nothing — but we still show their prices because our goal is to help you find the best deal, full stop.

This disclosure is made in accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255). We believe in full transparency and are committed to complying with all applicable disclosure requirements.

Our Commitment to You

We built SmartShop AI because we were frustrated with overpaying online. Affiliate revenue helps us keep the free tier free and fund ongoing development — but it will never compromise the integrity of our comparison results. If we ever found ourselves in a situation where affiliate relationships were influencing what we show you, we'd remove them.
